Froggo and the Mysterious Well
A downloadable game for Windows
Froggo has fallen into a deep, mysterious well filled with mushrooms and spiders. If he wants to get back to the surface, he must climb his way out by hopping between mushrooms and avoiding obstacles.
controls:
Z key - Jump / Proceed(Menu)
X key - Spit tongue (to grab the grappling points)
Arrow keys - Movements
BackSpace - Full screen Toggle
Warning: Very hard and difficult

Extract the file and run the executable!
If you've made any progress on some of the older version of this game and downloaded a new version, you can move the save.pickle file to the new game folder to keep the progress.

A fun and difficult little game. I found the difficulty to be satisfying rather than frustrating, although I stopped playing in the middle of the second zone, so not sure how insane the green area gets. I found the lack of in-game control instructions a little confusing, and as I hadn't read the game page, I only realised I had a tongue quiet late haha. Really impressive that you did all the art and sound yourself, so cool!

Really hard, as advertised! :D
The music and art was great and the grapple mechanic was pretty fun.
I feel like most of the difficulty for me comes from the fact Froggo can't stop in midair, which makes precise jumps hard (I dunno if that's intentional or not). It also seems strange that you keep jumping if you hold down space which lead to me accidently jumping a lot, where most platformers you need to press space to jump.
Other than those very minor nitpicks it was alot of fun. Great to see more pygame games on itch.

Oh thanks for pointing out the jumping issue (the holding down jump button one), I've never thought about that lol.
But I'll probably just keep it the way it is since the game is released. But I will try not to make this mistake in my future games.
I made an account just to comment on this masterpiece. It was hard, very hard, but I'm a stubborn froggo and I climbed that well all the way to the top. It was really fun. Good stuff, Frog!
